Olea europaea

Common Name: Olive

Olives are becoming increasingly popular in our gardens and are proving to be quite hardy.we have had one growing, planted out, for more than 5 years. In cold areas planting by a warm wall would give extra protection. They like as much sun as possible and a fertile soil with good drainage. The plants we offer for sale are propagated from the one growing outside. In summer the silvery-grey evergreen foliage is complimented by small creamy white flowers. We have fruit forming, but it never gets very large. Possible to grow in a container, pruning in spring if necessary.
