Calycanthus floridus

Common Name: Allspice

A large deciduous shrub with yellow autumn colour. The dark red flowers are 4-5 cm. across and made up of numerous strap shaped petals and are borne in summer.The flowers are fragrant as are the leaves when crushed. Good in sun or semi-shade.
Approximate height 2 metres. Very hardy.
