Common Name: Butterfly Bush
Dark red-purple flower spikes in summer, very attractive to insects. Use in a 'hot' border of other strong colours - Dahlias Cannas etc. or to to highlight and contrast with silvers and pale blue. Prune hard in spring to 60cm - the heavily scented flowers are larger on young growth and lower down on the plant.Sunny position.
